Cornea & Cataract Consultants of Arizona has been serving patients of all ages for a wide variety of ophthalmic conditions of the cornea and anterior segment for the past 35 years.
Each of our doctors is certified and has completed over 13 years of training including medical school, internship, ophthalmology residency, and an additional fellowship year in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. We are specialists in a wide variety of ocular conditions including keratoconus, Fuchs and other corneal dystrophies, ocular trauma, severe ocular infections, inflammatory disease, ocular surface malignancies, dry eye syndrome, cataracts, and refractive surgery. Common procedures performed by our surgeons include corneal transplantation including full-thickness and partial-thickness transplant (DSAEK and DMEK), pterygium surgery, and cataract surgery. We offer refractive surgical procedures including PRK (similar to LASIK surgery), ICL, clear lens exchange, refractive cataract surgery including the Light Adjustable Lens, advanced technology lenses such as the Panoptix and Vivity, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, and ORA intraoperative measurement technology.
Our founder, Dr. Edward Shaw, was the first fellowship-trained corneal specialist in Arizona. We take great pride in the tradition of excellence he started and strive to provide both professional and compassionate care to each patient that we see. We work with many local and regional eye care providers to provide consultation and management of challenging cases. We strive for personal care and each surgical patient is seen by his or her doctor before, during, and after their procedure and throughout their time in our practice.
